What is cannabigerol (CBG)?
Cannabigerol is a non-intoxicating/psychoactive molecule that forms the basis of all other important cannabinoids. Without CBG, CBD, CBN, CBC, and several others would not exist. CBG also plays a fundamental role in the formation of THC, CBD, and other key components of the cannabis plant. Industrial hemp doesn't initially have high levels of CBD; over time, the chemical structure of the plant changes, with the chemical compounds within reacting with various catalysts. Regarding CBG, it's one of the first cannabinoids to form, even when the plant is a seedling, and it's created by CBGA reacting with certain enzymes (geranyl pyrophosphate and olivetolic acid).
The formation of CBG then triggers a chain reaction of chemical changes that ultimately lead to the formation of other cannabinoids such as CBD, CBC, and THC. But CBG isn't just a precursor molecule—it also appears to be beneficial for your health.
What does CBG do:
CBG works much the same as other cannabinoids and interacts with cannabinoid receptors throughout your body. However, this cannabinoid often doesn't get as much attention as CBD because mature hemp plants contain only a small amount of CBG: about 1% of the total cannabinoid count. Based on early preclinical research, we know that CBG is not intoxicating; it doesn't get you high. Moreover, it appears to have an affinity for one or the other receptor, not both. The fact that CBG has an affinity for both receptors and has no side effects makes it a very interesting substance for your health.
What does CBG help with?
- Reduction of eye pressure and helps to better drain moisture from the eyes
- reducing anxious feelings
- reducing oxidative stress and thus the damage it causes in our body
- Muscle relaxant
- analgesic
- Suppression of skin cell proliferation, can be useful for skin problems
- appetite-stimulating
- antibacterial
How do you take CBG oil?
It's best to drop CBG directly under your tongue. The mucous membranes under the tongue allow your body to absorb CBG quickly. Leave the CBG drops under your tongue for about one minute before swallowing. To ensure you take the exact number of drops, we recommend taking them in front of a mirror or using a spoon. This way, you can accurately measure how many drops you're taking.
For optimal effect, follow these steps:
- Always shake the CBG bottle well before use.
- Drop the CBG oil.
- Wait 60 seconds
- Swallow the oil.
We do not recommend adding CBG drops to food or drinks. While this is generally harmless, because the oral mucosa doesn't have enough time to absorb the CBG , you lose much of its potency.
CBG oil dosage
The correct dosage is different for each person. Not only does body weight play a role, but also the purpose for which you intend to use CBG and your general physical and psychological condition. Consider, for example: The level of stress you're currently experiencing. Your mindset. A negative mindset requires more energy. Your lifestyle. For example, do you exercise regularly, get enough sleep, and eat healthily? Certain medications that you take regularly or sporadically. Your eating habits. Do you eat a bit healthier or a lot of junk food? How sensitive are you as a person to supplements? CBG oil can be effective one moment, while the next you might feel nothing or not the same. There are so many factors that influence this. The "correct" dosage therefore varies per person and often over time, just like with all other supplements.
When is the best time to take CBG oil?
It's best not to take CBG oil all at once during the day, but to spread it out over several times. Because this supplement is absorbed and excreted more quickly by the body, it can be beneficial to spread it out throughout the day. This way, you'll benefit from it all day long. What happens if I take too much CBG ? Overdose of CBG is highly unlikely. To date, scientists have not demonstrated any side effects, even with extremely high doses (1,500mg) and chronic use.
